ExpungeReady.com ("ExpungeReady", "we", "our") operates an attorney directory for expungement and record-sealing matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you submit through a contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, and the message you write.
- Technical information collected automatically: your IP address (which we hash before storage), browser user-agent string, and the URL of the page where you submitted the form.
- Attorney directory data: attorney name, license number, license status, admission date, office city and county, and disciplinary status, all sourced from publicly available state bar records.
- Account data (only if you create an account): email address and authentication tokens managed by our identity provider.
How we use information
- To transmit your inquiry to the attorney whose profile you submitted the form on.
- To prevent spam and abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile, honeypot fields, IP hashing).
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
How we share information
- With the attorney you contacted: when you submit a contact form on an attorney profile, your full submission is shared with that attorney so they can decide whether to respond. ExpungeReady does not receive a referral fee, share fees, or otherwise profit from any attorney–client relationship that may result.
- With service providers that host or operate the site on our behalf (e.g., Cloudflare for hosting and bot protection, Supabase for database storage, Stripe for payment processing if applicable). These providers act under written agreements that restrict their use of your data.
- To comply with law or in response to lawful requests from public authorities.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not share contact-form submissions with attorneys other than the one whose profile you submitted on.
Phone and SMS contact
If you choose to provide a phone number, you consent to be contacted by phone or text message about your inquiry by the attorney whose profile you contacted. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may revoke this consent at any time by replying "STOP" to any text, asking the attorney to stop contacting you, or contacting us at the address below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR. Attorneys: removal of a listing
Attorney profiles are built from public state bar records. If you are an attorney and you would like your listing removed or corrected, email legal@expungeready.com from an email address associated with your bar record. We honor verified removal requests within a reasonable time.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Data retention
Contact-form submissions are retained for as long as needed to operate the service and as required by law. You may request deletion at any time using the contact information above.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
